I did a mix cd swap with Ky from Philosophical Simplicities, got them yesterday and they’re awesome!  I imported them to iTunes, then stuck them in the car where they’ve been playing constantly (we now have one of those newfangled cars that plays cds.  my last car got one radio station. sometimes.).  I was worried cuz we have similar tastes in music but she included a lot I hadn’t heard before.  She also sent a Susie Ghahremani postcard (from boygirlparty.com), so cute.
I forgot to mention that I taught a workshop Saturday at the Octagon, we made these.  It went pretty well.  And one of my students taught me as well (patience that is, and that’s all I’ll say about that)!

Hey look, I’m blogging again!  Sorry ‘bout that, been pretty busy…  eating and sleeping and stuff.  Actually there is some exciting news, we bought a car!  Made in this century even!  The newest car we’d owned up till this point was a ‘91, and we’d never spent more than $1200, so this is a pretty big deal for us.  It’s a ‘01 Nissan Sentra and it feels like a rental.  I had to assure Matt this doesn’t make us yuppies and we can still ride our bikes when it’s nice out.
For anyone around Ames, the phonomenal Willy Porter is playing at the m-shop Friday the 27th, if you appreciate musical talent and haven’t seen him live it’s seriously mind-blowing and worth the ticket price.
I took this photo at Ledges State Park tonight, it was actually nice enough to be outside.  Gotta love global warming…

 
A friend (thanks Dan!) gave me a bunch of his old family photos so I made them into cards to sell (out of copies, people, never use the originals!).  I’ll post the rest later, I just wanted to get these up cuz they make me laugh. The quotes are from Napoleon Dynamite, Anchorman and Brokeback Mountain (which is finally coming to Iowa tomorrow, I can’t wait!).  (Click on the photo to see the other two)
